Fit Assessment
Nathaniel will visit riders and their horses at their own yards
to advise on the fit of their saddles. Nathaniel’s experience
is such that he can often recognise and remedy problems, which other
saddle fitters, may not be familiar with. He has a holistic approach
to saddle fitting and often works in co-operation with vets, physiotherapists
and trainers.

Adjustment and Repairs
As an experienced saddle maker Nathaniel can carry out all necessary
saddle repairs. Reflocking to adjust the fit of a saddle can be
done on site if the adjustment required is not extensive. Any major
work will need to be taken back to the workshop.
Lectures
and Demonstrations
Nathaniel Underwood is a Lecturer/Course
Leader on the Society of Master Saddlers Qualified Saddle Fitting
Course. He is also available for lectures or demonstrations to Riding
Clubs, Pony Clubs, Dressage and Endurance groups, and other interested
associations. He is intending to organise demonstrations at Belcombe
Farm entitled Introductory Saddle Fitting for Horse Owners. These
demonstrations will be designed to enlighten concerned horse owners
about the complexity of saddle fitting and to give them a basic
understanding of the mechanics of a horse working under saddle.
