Saddle Fitting Services

Nathaniel will visit riders and their horses at their own yards. However he has recently installed a first class arena complete with show jumps and has good parking facilities at Belcombe Farm near Chard in Somerset. (See contact page for address)
Because of high demand for his services it will often be much easier and quicker to get an appointment with Nathaniel if you can travel your horse to one of his clinics at Belcombe.

Nathaniel's saddles are available in Cornwall from Emma Oakley of West Country Saddlery. Emma is an experienced horse woman who has been training with Nathaniel in saddle fitting and reflocking and keeps a range of the Optimum Performance saddles in stock.

Nathaniel is happy to advise clients on the fit of their current saddles. His experience is such that he can often recognise and remedy problems which other saddle fitters may not be familiar with. He has a holistic approach to saddle fitting and often works in co-operation with vets, physiotherapists and trainers.

As an experienced saddle maker Nathaniel can carry out all necessary saddle repairs. He has an excellently equiped workshop at Belcombe Farm. Reflocking to adjust the fit of a saddle can be done on site if the adjustment required is not extensive. Any major repairs or adjustment will have to be brought back to the workshop.

Nathaniel keeps a selection of good quality used saddles in stock. These are all in excellent condition and generally of recent design. Prices usually vary from £400 to £900. Please contact us to discuss whether we may have anything suitable for you and your horse in stock.
Clients are welcome to come and take saddles to try as long as they are paid for in full or saddles can be sent by carrier if clients are willing to pay the carriage. If the saddle is returned in the same condition within a week, the cost of the saddle will be refunded. Alternatively you can arrange to bring your horse to Belcombe for Nathaniel to advise you if any of our secondhand saddles are suitable. He regrets that due to the extreme pressure of work he is not usually able to travel out to fit secondhand saddles.
